DIY Cosmetic Fixes and Creations

I have three solutions to your major cosmetic dilemmas: the broken compact, the broken lipstick and matching your eye shadow to your nail polish.

How to fix your broken compact:
Scoop out all of the remaining compact into a bowl.  Crush the compact into tiny and fine pieces. Combine 1/2 tablespoon of alcohol, mixing together until smooth like peanut butter. Replace the smooth mixture into the compact and let sit overnight. Good as new!

How to Create a Lip Balm from Lipstick:
To easily create a tinted lip balm, melt a small tub of chapstick in the microwave for two minutes (or until completed melted). Next, combine your broken lipstick (it will melt with the heat of the chapstick) and a dab of lip gloss (for shine). I then replaced my tinted lip balm in my chapstick tub. This is a great gift idea and way to create a custom color.

Create Any Color Nail Polish:
This is my favorite! Use a 3/4 full jar of nail polish (allows room for the powder and to mix) and add 1 teaspoon of your favorite powdered eye shadow into the bottle of nail polish. Shake the bottle (with the lid on) for 2 minutes and you have the perfect shade!
