We have birds in our chimney

I'm not kidding when I tell you that we have birds in our chimney.  Last Spring, we were greeted with their friendly arrival and it took us a while to realize that they were actually in our chimney.  They weren't too bad and by the time we finally were able to take action against them they moved out.

Now, they're back.  I think they've invited some distant relatives to also live in our chimney.  They are keeping the dogs up, making it hard to hear the tv and aren't as funny as they were last year.

My idea is to smoke them out as I learned from google but the husband thinks they will fall into the house if we open the chimney.  I'll keep you posted. If you have any advice please share.

Ideas for Frosting Spray

Required Items:Frosted Glass Spray Can ($6-$9 at Home Improvement and Craft Stores)

Glass Item

Optional Items Needed for Design:

Stencils

Stickers

Rubber Bands

To begin, make sure your glass or mirrored item is cleaned.  Next, use stickers, rubber bands or stencils to design your piece.  The sticker will remain clear glass when you’re complete.   Spray your item in a well-ventilated area and allow 30 minutes to dry.

This project is great to personalize ordinary household items or to enhance a gift.  I have to warn you, this spray is addicting.  I’m tempted to ‘frost’ everything in my house.

Upcycled Coffee Bottles

I have now collected more than 50 glass coffee bottles from my morning 100 calorie coffee drinks that I am addicted to. I used them at my Cinco De Mayo party but I have continued to collect them. Now what should I do with them next...

Custom Baby Picture Puzzle

My fabulous sister Kim gave me the idea to create personalized puzzles.  This is great for a new baby or growing toddler; personalized gifts mean so much more.

Items needed:
Wooden Puzzle (I purchased mine from Toys R Us
Scissors
Glue stick
Photos (duplicates if you want to match the photo or just two similar photos will work)

Use the puzzle piece to trace the needed shape.  Cut two for each and glue one onto the puzzle board and the second onto the puzzle piece.

Shop Local: Knoxville, TN

I am excited to share with you some of my favorite Farmer's Market vendors who also sell on Etsy.  So shop local Knoxville from ANYWHERE.

I purchased  the cutest cards and baby gift from Meghan McCrary.

I love the combination of pottery and lace from Burning Fork Studio.

Talk about cute as can be. Upcycled sweaters into cats by Zuparoo.
